HARO Insulation Underlay EPS Easy Aquastop Folding Board Basic Line

The HARO EPS Easy Aquastop Folding Board Basic Line insulation underlay is a really easy to lay folding board. It consists of EPS foam with an integrated vapour barrier (EPS = expanded polystyrene foam). The scope of delivery also includes 25 m of aluminium adhesive tape.

Where can this insulation underlay be used?

How is the insulation underlay laid?

Before you can start laying, you must determine the residual moisture on mineral subfloors using the CM method. This is a task for a professional. The residual moisture must not exceed 1.8 CM % for a heated cement screed and 2.0 CM % for an unheated cement screed. Heated screed is a screed in which underfloor heating has been installed. For the heated calcium sulphate screed the value is 0.3 CM % and for the unheated 0.5 CM %. V Before laying, check the subfloor. It must be flat, solid, crack-free, dry and clean. The room temperature must be at least 18 °C and the floor temperature between 15 °C and 25 °C. The value of relative humidity in the room should not exceed 65%. After you have realized these boundary conditions, lay out the folding plate and cut it to the required length with a cutter knife. Lay the individual sheets of the insulation underlay butt to butt. Then glue the joints with the enclosed aluminium adhesive tape to create a continuous vapour barrier. However, you should not directly cover the whole room with the insulation underlay. Then there is a risk that you will damage the underlay when laying the floor coverings.

Do you need acoustic insulation?

You cannot move silently on a rigid floor covering such as parquet or laminate. The noises that arise in a room are called room noise or walking noise. Part of this is transmitted via the floor into adjacent rooms. This proportion is called impact sound. A rigid floor covering forms a resonance body with the subfloor and the air between them, which amplifies the impact sound. Therefore, these floor coverings are relatively noisy and you need to install an acoustic insulation underlay.
