However, due to the high quality of the surface, damp cleaning is only rarely necessary. The laminate reacts to changes in humidity by expanding. Therefore it should not be laid close to the walls. Then the material would have no room to expand and curvatures would occur. Therefore a distance of about one centimetre should be left to the walls. The resulting joints are later covered by the skirting board.
