How the Ewifoam Universol 1000 acoustic underlay helps to save energy

Underfloor heating systems are becoming increasingly popular. For the choice of floor covering and acoustic insulation underlay, this means that the total thermal resistance of the floor covering and underlay(s) should not exceed 0.15 m²K/W. Only then can the heat from the floor heating system enter the room unhindered. The following applies: The lower the resistance, the better the heat conduction of the floor and thus the efficiency of the underfloor heating. The Ewifoam Universol 1000 series of insulating underlays have a very low thermal resistance of 0.006 m²K/W. As a result, the underfloor heating system requires considerably less energy to generate a comfortable room temperature. These positive properties of the acoustic insulation underlay are due on the one hand to its low thickness of only 1.5 mm, and on the other hand to the very good thermal conductivity of the mineral material.

Why do you need an acoustic insulation underlay?

Laminate, solid wood parquet and ready-made parquet are rigid floor coverings. If such rigid floor coverings are laid floating, they form a resonance body with the subfloor and the air in between, which amplifies the impact sound. Impact sound is the part of the room sound that is transmitted into adjacent rooms - for example via the floor. Without appropriate acoustic insulation, also known as impact sound insulation, rigid floor coverings are very loud. Therefore an acoustic insulation underlay is absolutely necessary in these cases.
