Parador Acoustic Protect 100 high-tech acoustic mat for mineral substrates

This room and impact sound absorbing acoustic mat was developed specifically for use under floating parquet, laminate and vinyl floors. The good attenuation of room sound is due, among other things, to the high dead weight of the insulation mat. It is supplied as easy to install roll goods.

Ecological and health aspects of this insulating underlay

The insulating mat is toxicologically, physiologically and ecologically harmless. It is produced without solvents, plasticizers, heavy metals or formaldehyde. Neither CFCs nor other ozone-depleting substances were used in production. It therefore achieves an A+ rating in the VOC classification. (VOC is the abbreviation for volatile organic compounds). This permanently elastic insulation underlay consists of mineral fillers and polyurethane binders. It is coated on one side with aluminium.

Where is this insulation mat used?

This insulation underlay is suitable for floating installation of the following floor coverings:

• Solid vinyl floor
• Vinyl floor with carrier plate
• Laminate
• Solid wood parquet
• Ready-made parquet

It can be laid on mineral subfloors and over hot water-carrying floor heating systems.

What must be observed when laying this insulation mat?

The substrate must be firm, dry and clean. The residual moisture must not exceed 2 CM % for an unheated cement screed and 1.8 CM % for a heated screed. The residual moisture of an unheated calcium sulphate screed must be less than 0.5 CM %. For a heated calcium sulphate screed the value drops to 0.3 CM %. The CM stands for the calcium carbide measuring method. If these conditions are met, lay the insulation underlay so that its sheets are at a 90° angle to the direction of the floor covering. You lay the insulation mat butt to butt, i.e. in strips directly next to each other. To ensure the effectiveness of the integrated vapour barrier, it is essential (!) that you glue the sheets together at the joint edges with aluminium joint sealing tape. This creates a continuous vapour barrier that covers the entire room and protects your floor from moisture.

Why do you need this acoustic mat?

If you install a floating floor covering, you are also unintentionally constructing a resonance body for the impact sound, which amplifies it. Impact sound is the sound generated in a room and transmitted to other rooms via the floor, ceiling or walls. Without acoustic insulation, a floating floor covering is therefore very loud.
