Vinyl flooring in the bathroom - which floor is suitable for it?

A vinyl floor, for example in an attractive wood look, enhances the room visually. It gets a very special touch. At the same time, you benefit from the advantages mentioned above. Even without underfloor heating, the flooring feels pleasant on bare skin when walked on.

The bathroom is a wet room. When you shower or bathe, the humidity in the room quickly rises to more than 70%. Even after extensive ventilation there is usually a higher air humidity than in other living spaces

To avoid swelling of the flooring, we therefore recommend solid full vinyl. It is completely made of the robust material, water and humidity cannot harm it. It is 100% waterproof and therefore perfectly suited for these demanding applications.

The situation is different with click vinyl with HDF carriers. Only the upper wear layer is waterproof - water can penetrate. The effect of water can cause unsightly deformations at the edges in the long term.

Glue or click?

Laying the vinyl is very easy, even untrained users can do it without any problems. The individual segments (tiles or planks) can be laid in a few simple steps. All vinyl floors that you get from Parquetkaiser are made of Phthalate-free plasticizers manufactured. Thus contribute to a healthy and pleasant indoor climate.

What types of installation are available? For one thing, there is the solid adhesive vinyl. Especially for larger areas or commercial objects, the floor covering is glued over the entire surface. In the case of a firm bond, a marvellous room acoustics can be achieved. If underfloor heating is installed in the room, the fixed connection ensures a higher Thermal conductivity

The heat from the underbody is transferred quickly and directly. Furthermore, you can be sure that the floor will not slip even under heavy loads. Adhesive vinyl is glued directly to the substrate, an additional Vapour barrier or other underlay are not necessary.

The laying technique takes a lot of time in advance: the floor must be prepared particularly thoroughly. Because unlike click vinyl, even the smallest irregularities are visible with adhesive vinyl.

It is easier and faster with the click systems from Parkettkaiser. With a little craftsmanship, the floor can be laid just as quickly as a laminate floor, for example. Slight unevenness of the floor is compensated.

It is also possible to walk on the floor directly after laying. Nothing needs to dry or harden. Click variants are ideal for floating installation on existing flooring. In case of renovation, the vinyl floor can be removed quickly and without leaving any marks.

Depending on the model, Click-Vinyl is also suitable for use on underfloor heating systems. However, there are air spaces between the individual layers which increase the thermal resistance. This reduces the thermal conductivity of the floor.

Vinyl flooring in the bathroom - that's what counts

No matter which variant is used, careful sealing is essential. This is the only way to avoid structural damage due to water ingress and the associated unnecessary expense.

Critical points such as transitions to the wall, showers or other areas should be professionally sealed. Permanent protection can be achieved with a special PU sealing. In addition, we recommend a maintenance joint silicone for sealing. In this way you can reliably protect yourself against water penetration.
