To get on the track of stains and neutralise them effectively, a little flair is required. First of all, it should be determined what caused the stain. Often it is beverage residue which has penetrated deep into the wooden parquet or other wooden surfaces due to carelessness. Mainly responsible for the stain is the tannic acid, chemically also called tannins, which are found in almost every plant. These are secondary plant substances which the organism uses to protect itself from predators. Tannins are soluble in water, acetone and ethanol. There are two groups of tannins, the hydrolyzable and the condensing tannic acids. These are disproportionately found in red wine, green and black tea, coffee as well as all kinds of berries.

Red wine stains or other stains caused by tannic acid can be effectively removed with the WOCA TANNIC ACID STAIN SPRAY. It is therefore a spray can which can effectively apply its contents to the surfaces to be treated. For this purpose, the Tannic Acid Stain Spray should be sprayed evenly on the stain. After the application time of 30 to 60 minutes, the affected area can be washed off with lukewarm water as well as gently rubbed dry. If residues of tannic acid remain visible in the wood, the process should be repeated. Re-treatment of the wood surface with wax or oil provides reliable protection against further foreign influences. The 250 millilitre spray can is particularly suitable for small areas and can be easily applied. The acidic pH 2.5 of the stain spray is based on oxalic acid, which neutralises the stain when combined with water. This acid was already discovered in the 18th century in wood sorrel and is therefore also called clover acid. However, this natural product is also found in rhubarb, sorrel and other plants.
