This anti-static, low-emission Parador laminate is made from wood from sustainable forestry. Therefore it can also be disposed of in normal household waste or bulky waste. This laminate is robust, durable and has a particularly scratch-resistant surface. This means that the movement of chair castors or furniture feet leaves no permanent marks on the laminate. For this reason, the manufacturer also gives a 25-year guarantee on this laminate for use in private rooms; for commercial use, the guarantee period is 5 years.

Why do you need an acoustic insulation mat for the laminate floor?

You have probably heard the "clack, clack" when someone walks across a wooden floor with shoes with hard soles. It's called a walking sound. If this walking sound is transmitted via the floor into adjacent rooms, it is called impact sound. A hard floor covering, such as parquet or laminate, forms a resonance chamber with the subfloor and the air layer between the two, which amplifies the footfall sound. For this reason, a laminate floor always requires impact sound insulation. This impact sound insulation consists of an acoustic insulation mat, also called acoustic insulation or acoustic underlay.

What is a moisture barrier?

A moisture barrier, also called a vapour barrier, moisture brake or vapour barrier, is a thin PE film. It protects the floor covering against moisture rising from the subfloor. Some floor coverings have an integrated moisture barrier. The Parador laminate of the Classic 1050 series, however, does not have an integrated vapour barrier. You need this moisture barrier if you want to install the laminate on a mineral subfloor or over a water-bearing underfloor heating system. On the other hand, if the laminate is to be laid on an old wooden floor, you must not use a moisture barrier. The wood of the floor must be able to absorb and release moisture.
