The laminate is built up from several layers in an elaborate process. The top layer is the transparent overlay. It is extremely hard, robust and scratch-resistant. Underneath is the specially impregnated decorative laminate. It consists of a lightfast special paper printed with the oak decor and impregnated in melamine resin. This decorative laminate is responsible for the authentic look of the laminate plank. The core of the plank is the swell-tempered HDF core board under the decorative laminate, which is equipped with Aqua-Resist technology (HDF core board = high-density fiberboard). It is made of softwood and protects the plank against moisture. Under it, there is still the counter-laminate. It serves to equalize the tension to the overlay. Thus, it prevents the laminate plank from warping. At the same time, it provides further moisture protection
