The construction of HARO Professional Parquet 4000In the past, parquet was made of solid wood. Today, a multi-layer structure for parquet floors has become established. The surface of this parquet consists of a 3.5 mm thick wear layer of smoked oak. Underneath this is a middle layer consisting of solid spruce strips. The lowest layer is a counter-layer veneer of softwood. When laying the floor, an acoustic insulation underlay can be placed under the parquet. The multi-layer structure has several advantages. It prevents the wood from working too much and cracks or joints from forming. Less material is needed for the multi-layer parquet, especially from the slow growing precious woods. This is more sustainable and also makes the parquet flooring cheaper.Accessories for laying the parquet floorFor a clean transition between the parquet and the walls you need skirting boards. These are offered in different designs and sizes. The end of the parquet floor at the room boundary can be designed with an end profile. If there is a difference in height to be bridged from room to room, you need an adjustment profile that is adjustable in height. If the parquet flooring is to be laid over a water-bearing underfloor heating system or on a mineral subfloor, a moisture barrier must be placed underneath.
