This flooring is not made of solid wood, but of planks that are assembled from several layers under high pressure. This method offers a number of important advantages. For example, these planks are not as sensitive to temperature and humidity fluctuations as solid wood. The core of each plank is the HDF middle layer, which has Aqua-Stop edge impregnation. This impregnation makes the plank less sensitive to moisture that may penetrate through the joints. On this middle layer there is a "Wood-Powder" layer. This is a mixture of natural materials, mainly wood fibers and minerals. On top of this layer is the top layer made of oak wood. It is covered by the ultra-matt Duratec lacquer. It consists of formaldehyde-free, UV-cured acrylic lacquer and makes the surface particularly robust and easy to clean. Underneath the middle layer is a backing layer, also made of Wood-Powder. It serves to make the plank less sensitive to temperature fluctuations and changes in humidity.
