What does the grade authentic mean?

No floorboard looks exactly like another. Both within a tree and from tree to tree there are small variations in color, possibly knotholes, cracks, sapwood, ingrown knots and differences in wood texture. By grading the planks, these differences can be compensated for or emphasized as much as possible. The "authentic" grade deliberately focuses on differences in structure and color between the individual planks.
