Alabaster is a variety of the mineral gypsum and is often used for the production of valuable art objects. Onyx marble, another form of gypsum, calcite, on the other hand, was used in Egypt for the production of small alabaster statues. While Egyptian alabaster looks almost amber yellow and cream, the minerals obtained from gypsum will appear in light gray to off-white. The new wood floor OAK NATURE ALABASTER approaches more the vintage look of an Egyptian sculpture in terms of color choice.
